Karp to present keynote address

QB3 investigator Dr. Richard Karp, Professor in the departments of Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, and Mathematics at UC Berkeley, will present a keynote address at CSB2003, the Computational Systems Bioinformatics Conference sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society held at Stanford University.

From 2:30-3:30 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2003, Karp will discuss the lessons he learned while shifting his research from theoretical computer science to computational genomics. He describes a fundamental difference in the use of algorithms in the two fields, and gives suggestions to computer scientists and mathematicians interested in computational genomics.

For more information about the conference, including location and directions, see the CSB2003 website at http://conferences.computer.org/bioinformatics/index.html
