High-resolution Analysis

Samples requiring high resolution (HR) analysis MUST be accompanied by a low resolution (LR) spectrum for that compound. A hard copy of the LR mass spectrum should be attached to the submission form when requesting HR mass measurements. Students are encouraged to examine their LR spectrum before proceeding with a request for HR. If an LR spectrum indicates the presence of an impurity ion at an abundance greater than or equal to 15% (relative) of that of the ion of interest, then the student will be required to obtain his/her research advisor's signature on the LR spectrum before the staff will proceed with HR mass measurements.
